LinkedIn Workshop & Peer Profile Review | New York, NY | February 19 & March 1, 2014
The PhDs At Work LinkedIn Workshops helped me to whittle down my CV into a cogent representation of my skills, experiences, and interests. The changes I have made to my LinkedIn profile have already had a clear impact on how I am found in searches.
The workshop at the LinkedIn offices provided expert advice on how to write compelling profile headlines and summaries, and on how to organize skills and experiences in a clear impactful way. The people who attended were incredible! I asked for feedback on my profile, received several clear suggestions, made the changes that night, and received positive feedback in the days that followed from people I met at the event.
I think it is a rare and wonderful thing to receive so much from a group of people in so short a time. Having now attended one networking event and two workshops hosted by PhDs At Work, it is what I have come to expect: a group of great, smart, people trying to help one another figure out the next step in their careers.
Reflecting on the experience, they are people that I would love to work with, and now that we have met, perhaps we will in the future. I would recommend this group to anyone looking to transition from an academic setting to a career outside of academia.
